SaaS SEO

Campaigns documented and executed by Sathmina Dissanayake

We have a focused set of SEO case studies covering real client campaigns across education, e-commerce, healthcare, SaaS, tourism, local businesses, and corporate sectors - delivered from Sri Lanka to clients in the US, UK, Australia, France, and beyond. These are not polished agency write-ups, and I'm not trying to make them read like they are. They are honest accounts of the challenge, the strategy I applied, and the measurable results that followed. As an independent SEO specialist, every campaign here was personally planned and executed by me - no handoffs, no junior staff, no diluted output. The $500,000+ in client revenue generated across these campaigns reflects what focused, specialist SEO can do when the strategy is built around the business in front of you, not a templated playbook.

What Are These SEO Case Studies?

These SEO case studies are in-depth accounts of organic search campaigns I have run for clients across multiple industries and countries. Each one documents a real business problem, the specific SEO strategy I applied to solve it, and the before-and-after data that shows what actually happened.

Unlike generic agency portfolios that lead with logos and testimonials, every case study here is structured around three honest questions: what was broken or missing, what I did about it, and what the data showed as a result. Google Search Console data, traffic trends, keyword movement, and revenue impact are used throughout - because numbers do not need embellishment.

As a solo SEO specialist rather than an agency, I work with a deliberately limited client roster at any one time. That means every case study here reflects a campaign I was personally accountable for from the initial audit through to the reporting. The results you see were not produced by a team of seven people behind an account manager. They were produced by one specialist with a clear strategy and a commitment to measurable organic growth.

If you cannot find a case study that matches your industry, get in touch. There is a strong chance I have worked in your sector or in one close enough to make the strategic crossover useful.

Why Case Studies Matter When Choosing an SEO Specialist

Choosing who manages your SEO is one of the most consequential digital decisions a business can make. Rankings take months to build, and if the wrong strategy is applied, they can take just as long to recover. That is why case studies matter. They are one of the clearest ways to judge whether an SEO specialist has actually solved the kind of problems your business is dealing with - not just whether they can talk about SEO confidently on a sales call.

Here is why they matter:

Proof over promises.

Any SEO specialist can claim expertise. Case studies are where that claim either holds up or falls apart. When you can see the exact challenge a client faced, the strategy that was applied, and the traffic or revenue data that followed, you are evaluating real competence - not polished marketing copy. The best SEO specialist in Sri Lanka or anywhere else should be able to support their positioning with data, not just credentials.

Sector relevance.

SEO strategy is not universal. The approach that drives 91% click growth for an international education provider looks nothing like the local SEO work required to dominate the Google Local Pack for a UK healthcare business. Reading case studies from your sector tells you whether the specialist has actually navigated your competitive landscape before.

Benchmarking what's possible.

Case studies give you a realistic frame of reference for what SEO can deliver in your industry, at your current domain authority, within a credible timeframe. They are also a useful antidote to inflated promises and vague commitments.

Transparency as a trust signal.

When a specialist is willing to publish the details of a campaign - including the starting point, the specific tactics used, and the honest results - that tells you something important about how they work. In my experience, transparency in case studies usually reflects transparency in client relationships.

Learning from Real SEO Campaigns

There is a ceiling to what theoretical SEO knowledge can tell you. The variables that determine whether a strategy succeeds - site history, competitive density, content architecture, crawl behaviour, user intent patterns - only really reveal themselves in live campaigns. That is why real case studies, grounded in actual client data, are more useful than any framework built in isolation.

Each case study in this collection documents a specific strategic decision: why I chose technical SEO over content strategy expansion for one client, why an international SEO hreflang rebuild was the correct first move for another, and why identifying and filtering fraudulent bot traffic had to happen before any meaningful growth work could begin. These are not interchangeable decisions. They come from reading each site's data properly before deciding on a strategy.

If you are trying to work out whether SEO is right for your business, these campaigns give you a clearer picture of what the process actually looks like - the audit phase, the prioritisation of fixes, the timeline to visible results, and the way organic growth compounds when the foundations are built correctly. If you are already investing in SEO and wondering why results have stalled, these accounts often surface the category of problem you are likely dealing with before we even have a conversation.

What My SEO Case Studies Include

Each case study on this page follows a consistent structure so you can evaluate campaigns fairly across different industries and strategies. Here is what you will find in every one:

The challenge.

Every case study opens with an honest account of what the client was dealing with - low organic visibility, a failed migration, fraudulent traffic distorting performance data, a widening competitor gap, or a market expansion with no SEO infrastructure behind it. This section is written to be specific rather than vague, because the challenge is what shapes everything that follows.

The strategy.

The solution section documents exactly what I did and why I did it. This might be a technical SEO audit and crawl architecture rebuild, a topical cluster content strategy, a hreflang implementation for international SEO markets, or a local SEO campaign built around Google Business Profile and citation consistency. The specific tactic is always named, because saying "we improved their SEO" tells you nothing useful.

The result - with data.

Results are presented as before-and-after metrics drawn from Google Search Console and analytics. Click growth, impression growth, keyword ranking shifts, and where relevant, revenue or lead volume impact. Client names are protected under NDA in most cases, but the industry, location, and campaign specifics are shared in full.

No invented numbers.

Every metric cited in these case studies is taken directly from verified data sources. I am an SEO specialist, not a copywriter. The numbers are the point.

How These Case Studies Can Help You Decide

The case studies collected here cover a range of industries, markets, and SEO challenges. Some involve e-commerce stores trying to cut through crowded SERPs. Others involve education providers needing visibility across multiple country-specific Google domains. Several involve local businesses whose reported traffic numbers were misleading until the data was cleaned up properly.

What they have in common is that none of them were solved with a generic checklist. Each one required a diagnosis before a strategy, and a strategy before any execution. That sequence - audit, prioritise, execute, measure - is the consistent thread running through every campaign here.

If you are reviewing these to decide whether to work together, the most useful thing you can do is find the case study closest to your own situation. If you are an e-commerce business in Sri Lanka struggling to compete on category keywords, the approach documented there is directly relevant to what I would build for you. If you are a SaaS company trying to grow organic signups in a competitive YMYL-adjacent niche, the strategic thinking behind that campaign translates.

Working with an independent SEO specialist rather than an agency means the person who writes your strategy is the same person who executes it, monitors it, and reports on it. There is no account manager translating your brief to a team you have never met. The focus that produced the results in these case studies is the same focus I apply to every active client.

If you want to understand what that could look like for your specific business, the next step is a free SEO Masterplan - a no-obligation review of your current organic position and a clear picture of where the growth is.

The data is here. The methodology is documented. If your organic growth has flatlined - or never started - let's look at why.
