How a Sri Lankan Coco Peat Exporter Reached Page One Across Global Markets in Two Months
A tightly budgeted international SEO campaign that moved coco peat export keywords from obscurity to page-one positions across valuable overseas markets - then rebuilt that visibility after hosting problems forced the client onto a new website.

Client Identity Withheld Under NDA
This campaign is published with the client's brand name and domain intentionally withheld to honor contractual confidentiality requirements. The industry, target markets, strategy, product context, and redacted performance data are shared so the work can be evaluated without compromising client confidentiality.
Estimated Organic Traffic Growth

Ahrefs estimated organic traffic rose from roughly 50 to more than 120 during the campaign window. This is a directional third-party estimate, not an Analytics session count.
Number-One Position Checks

Independent position checks recorded number-one results for relevant exporter queries in the United States and Sri Lanka.
Page-One Visibility Across Markets

The same position-checking method recorded number-two results in the United Kingdom and Mexico, supporting the multi-market nature of the campaign.
Early Query Movement

One priority US query moved from an average position of 92.8 on 22 May to 14.4 on 26 June, showing how quickly previously buried terms began approaching page one.
Multi-Market Top Rankings

The final tracker contained multiple positions between two and six across the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, and Sri Lanka - broader evidence than one isolated ranking screenshot.
Broader Page-One Coverage

The continuation shows additional terms around positions six to twelve. Not every tracked keyword reached the top five, so the result is presented as it was rather than overstated.

Challenge
The client was a Sri Lankan exporter supplying coco peat and related agricultural growing media to overseas buyers. Their commercial opportunity was international, but their search visibility was not. Priority markets included the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan, with additional visibility monitored in markets such as Mexico.
The timing mattered because the company attended international exhibitions and needed overseas buyers to find a credible, search-visible business when researching potential suppliers. The initial goal was ambitious: move a focused group of high-value exporter and product keywords toward positions one to five during a three-month engagement.
This was also an early, tightly budgeted project. There was no room for a bloated campaign or months of unfocused activity. The website needed a complete SEO foundation, clear product relevance, and market-aware targeting that could produce measurable movement quickly without pretending every keyword would reach the top five at the same pace.

Solution
I treated the project as a complete international SEO build rather than a small collection of title-tag changes. The work began with technical checks and international keyword research, mapping product and exporter intent across the markets the client cared about most.
I then strengthened the website's core product and landing pages through on-page optimisation, content writing, clearer headings, improved internal linking, and structured data. The content had to do two jobs at once: explain the export offer convincingly to international buyers and give search engines enough context to understand the company's product relevance.
Performance was monitored through Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and a multi-country keyword tracker. That combination helped separate actual query movement from third-party traffic estimates and made it possible to verify rankings market by market instead of assuming a position in one country applied everywhere.
The engagement later gained a second chapter. Hosting problems led the company to abandon the original website and create a replacement. I supported the move and rebuilt the technical, content, on-page, internal-linking, and structured-data foundations on the new site so the company could recover the international visibility it had already earned.

Result
The first campaign produced meaningful international visibility within roughly two months. Independent position checks recorded number-one rankings for relevant exporter queries in the United States and Sri Lanka, alongside number-two results in the United Kingdom and Mexico.
The broader keyword tracker showed multiple commercial terms between positions two and five across the US, Canada, Japan, the UK, and Sri Lanka, with additional terms sitting across the rest of page one and the top of page two. The evidence does not show every tracked keyword reaching positions one to five, so the honest conclusion is that most priority terms achieved strong page-one visibility while several reached the top five.
Google Search Console also documented the early climb. Three tracked US queries moved from average positions of approximately 92.8, 80.7, and 66 in late May to 14.4, 16.7, and 16.2 by 26 June. Ahrefs estimated organic traffic rose from roughly 50 to more than 120 during the wider campaign window - more than double the starting level, while remaining clearly labelled as an estimate rather than Analytics traffic.
For the client, the value was not traffic for its own sake. The stronger search presence gave the exporter a more credible digital footprint when overseas buyers researched the company around international exhibitions. The clearest relationship signal came later: after hosting issues forced a replacement website, the client returned and trusted me to rebuild the SEO foundation and international visibility a second time.
This is not a story about every keyword reaching number one or a guaranteed three-month formula. It is a story about using limited resources to establish verifiable search visibility across several export markets, then applying the same foundation again when the website itself had to be replaced.
